Benefits Of Planting A Tree

Posted on 30. Sep, 2013 by in Home Improvement

Planting trees is beneficial for so many different reasons. Trees provide shade in the summer and wing blocks in the winter. They filter air and proved a barrier for soil erosion.

Giving a person the ability to plant a tree enables them to make the future better and brighter for kids. A young healthy tree can provide enough cooling effect to match a ten room air conditioner. A well placed tree can also provide enough shade to reduce the energy bill by about three percent in five years and almost twelve percent in fifteen years. When you plant a tree you are basically planting a purifier. One tree can clean about 330 pounds of carbon dioxide from the air each year according to the US Forest Service. This would be enough air for a family of four. The roots also offer as a filter for ground water and help control erosion of soil.

Trees can also add an ascetic appeal to the yard. People dream of living in a house with a large tree and a white picket fence. Children swinging on a tire or climbing up into a tree house can add many memories to any families lives. A backyard tree can also just provide a shaded area to lounge and play. Trees in the yard will help maintain water in the soil which will lead to a lush green grass with lower maintenance. It is important to keep the lawn mowed high to reduce roots and promote new grass growth. Once way to reduce upkeep on the tree is to mulch around the base of the tree. This keeps mowing easier and reduces the chance of damaging the trunk of the tree. This tree will help reduce your carbon footprint as it improved the look of the yard.
